All Roads Lead To Mass Effect...never were there truer words spoken. I have to say that if they decide to design ME3 with the Kinect in mind that just might break me and I don't know if I could actually play it. That makes me sick to say. I hope that they know better.
And you all had it right - the stomp in Dead Space was wicked and one of my favorite things to do. The game in general was one of my favorites to play however the clues to the scares start to tip you off and takes away a lot of the tension as the game goes on. But I do look forward to #2. Fun stuff and you all should tackle Fallout since New Vegas is coming up soon. Thanks Guys!

@masseffectme But what about the smiles and the children?

masseffectme 1 year ago

@Gloam The smiles are painted on and the children are made out of puppy tears and shredded money powered by the exceutive expelled gas. That's why everyone is only having kind of a good time. Not a great time. Just a good time. Don't go overboard. Just be a little excited.

@masseffectme That's actually quite accurate then. I played Wii bowling once and I had kind of a good time. Not a great time, just y'know, yeah it was kind of a good time.

@scott Really loved this week's podcast.

I am a big fan of Batman:AA and I'm jonesing for the sequel. I was actually pretty happy with the level of 'grit' in the original as I thought that they snuck in a darker feel than I was expecting. For me it felt like a game pitched at fans of the early-nineties animated series (what with reuniting Conroy, Hamill and Sorkin) which was stylistically dark if not actually dark in subject matter. So I compared the 'feel' of the game against the cartoon and not Morrison's one-shot.

Having said that I'm holding out for the sequel getting a whole lot darker, too!

Found what you guys said about early 3D games looking amazing in our minds really interesting. I had the same feeling when I played Metal Gear Solid for the Playstation (God, way back in 1998) and thought the graphics were so good my mind was blown. When I played it again a couple of years back (still the best MGS by a country mile) I was shocked by how the character's faces didn't emote like Bobby De Niro but were unanimated, blocky textures. Still the game still held up really well because (and I think this goes for Tekken and Mario 64) the animation is superb (what with motion capture and all). I came away thinking that there is so much that goes on in the head of the player when it comes to graphics.
