Metroid: Other M

I think this was a great way to get people to want to get into the game. I have always been more of a fan of the 2d side scrolling versions of this series (Super Metroid being my favorite game ever I think) but even if I had not been a fan of the 2d side scrolling series I think this would make me want to play it.

What does everyone think?

This has got a 50/50 shot in my mind. It could either be a great way to take the series after three (excellent, in my mind) FPS titles, or this could just be remembered as a weird footnote, Like Dirge of Cerberus is for the Final Fantasy games. I'm reserving my opinion for after I play it, but I will be playing it, without a doubt.

I still have mixed feelings about the different kind of gameplay for the series but I'm going to give it a shot. The trailer did a wonderful job of making me second guess the game for sure.

I'm not sure how I feel about it either. I think it could be good and I will give it a chance. Metroid needs to be awesome this time around to win me back over. Nintendo also needs to stop playing genre-roulette with their franchise.

I think that if they can pull it off they will win back those of us that really liked the NES-SNES ones. I liked the fps version but in my mind the fps market is a little over saturated. I always welcome something different.

@Ryan Agreed. I never wanted Metroid to become a FPS.

I think this is a great spin of both worlds, I'm curious how it plays. And they did a great job on the live action chick, she looks like the in game Samus!
